Some of the more challenging investigations we are asked to conduct as indoor air quality specialists are odur investigations. This can often be due to the fact that many people will report the odor differently and often there is only limited background information about the odor available. This presentation will cover some weird and wacky projects with unusual odor sources that were leading to wide spread panic in the buildings about potential health effects. In some cases, clients were dealing with potential work stoppages and largescale walkouts. This presentation will cover best practices for assessing a site with an unusual odor, and also cover the recommended testing equipment (and if testing equipment is always required) when our clients call in a panic about an unknown odor
