As the market for low cost sensors to monitor indoor air quality has grown significantly in the last 5 years, the accuracy and reliability of such sensors has become a topic of discussion. Using reference grade instruments and calibrated source concentrations of analytes under laboratory conditions, we evaluated 3 types of low cost IAQ sensors for their ability to reproducibly measure VOCs and PM 2.5 within their claimed sensitivity range.
