Indoor air quality is a contributing factor to overall health and well-being. According to the National Institute for Occupational Health and Safety (NIOSH), people spend roughly 90% of their time indoors being exposed to indoor air that can be more polluted than the air outdoors. A method of air sampling using electrokinetic capture technology has been shown to effectively capture airborne allergens, fungi, molds, bacteria, and viruses. Through incorporation of this air sampling technology into real-world case studies, we will show the benefits of sampling for bioaerosols, how monitoring indoor air can lead to healthier outcomes for IAQ clients, and how to incorporate air sampling into IAQ assessments.
